Publiek Park highlighted the various layers of stories public green spaces contain by bringing together visual art, performance, music, film, word and more. Urban parks inherently serve as spaces of exhibition, with artistic and historical monuments on display, functioning as an archive of the city. As precious side-effects of human desire for nature, culture, remembrance, leisure, freedom and control, parks encapsulate both location-specific and universal narratives. The exhibition and programme of Publiek Park is created to complement and illuminate what is already present at these three green spaces, forming a promenade through intricate histories, complex presents and imagined futures. During Publiek Park, you are invited to enjoy an exhibition with the works of 18 local and international artists, as well as a public programme, created in collaboration with various cultural partners. In addition to the presentations at the parks, artworks can be seen at TICK TACK, Moonstreet, Red Herring Salon, Annie Gentils Gallery and LLS Paleis. Publiek Park was supplemented with an elaborate Walking Guide,&nbsp; designed by Victor Verhelst, that counts 332 pages of historical research, artist contributions and essays by seven writers and thinkers.The four days of Publiek Park were each dedicated to a specific public programme, encompassing experimental music by KRAAK, open-air analogue screenings by Art Cinema OFFoff, guided tours and drawing sessions by MSK. The performance and visual art festival took place at CAMPO Victoria and Kunsthal Gent in Ghent, Belgium. Over four days, the performing artists were invited to stay in the exhibition at Kunsthal Gent, which was filled with various architectural installations, beds, and chairs. The educational exhibition The Eye on the Skin: On Architecture, Film and Video explores the cinematic perception of architecture. It starts from a view that is not objective but subjective: looking at architecture is closely linked to tactile experiences. In other words, the perception of architecture is influenced by a physical contact with its structures. Artists and filmmakers use the camera eye and&nbsp; various cinematographic techniques to shape the human view of architecture in its architectural, social, artistic and subjective manifestations. They focus their camera (eye) on the architecture (skin).
